Hi from Edinburgh, Scotland everybody! More specifically, Hello from the Edinburgh airport Starbucks. I am fueling back up after nearly ten hours of flying, around 7 hours of sleep in the past two nights, and FIVE YEARS of no dates with the hubs. Yes…you heard (read) that right. The hubs and I have been on nearly zero dates since I came down with pregnancy the first time….heck…we lived on opposite sides of the globe at that time and it wasn’t until I was nearly 8 months along until we were FINALLY living under the same roof.

Seven years later, years equally mixed with happiness, sadness, anger, exhaustion, and laughter, my husband surprised me for Christmas with this week-long jaunt to Scotland with my parents. With my desire to always do more and compete with myself in whatever I do, I didn’t realize until we boarded the first flight in Pittsburgh, that I was relieved that I could not push myself to do more for this next week. I just have to enjoy and relax. That is such a rare feeling, one I am not accustomed to and one I do not prefer. Never-the-less, I have dedicated myself to enjoying and relaxing and in my natural overly-competitive state, I will be the best damn enjoyer and relaxer I can!

I even almost gave way and purchased the seriously over-priced airplane special of “wine and pringles!” I mean seriously, wine and pringles? The UK is doing it right!!

Anywho, no pictures here…just boring writing and an introduction to the next week of OOTD posts because my wardrobe for this trip is 100% me-made minus one seriously neutral sweater 😛

Happy Sewing!
