Sunday Lately #113

Holding: Lots of tools lately! I’ve been in assembly mode for my school’s Maker Space and accidentally threw myself in to a flare after working too hard to build 300 pound tables by myself….I’m stubborn. I’ve now asked for help, realized I can’t do it all alone, and have more sturdy friends coming to help me finish building the tables on Monday. Phew! I don’t plan on putting the tables down. Still plenty to do <3

Closing: One year of Service with AmeriCorps! I finished my first year on Monday and Started my second year with this program (third year with AmeriCorps in total) on Tuesday. Since my 19th year, I have spent less than 4 years NOT in service to this country and my local community in one way or another and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The work is so gratifying and there truly is no better feeling than knowing you are genuinely fulfilling a need that otherwise would not have been.

Going: 150MPH…which my body reminded me is entirely too fast! I slept about 30 hours between Friday and Saturday, more if you count time I was trying to keep my eyes open and failing spectacularly. I’m avoiding slowing down at all costs, though. Rather, I’m trying to plan better so fewer things jump up at the last minute if I was already told about them. I actually woke up this morning not wanting or NEEDING a nap for the first time in months! It was a welcome respite from exhaustion.

Watching: Too much news, but I’m convinced, and am usually proven correct, that at any minute, some new crazy thing will have happened and if I stop watching, I’ll never be able to catch up. So I watch it in the evenings, live stream while at work, and listen to it via Sirius while I’m driving. I have a thirst for information.

Expecting: A fun spring! filled with tons of gorgeous floral dresses and sweaters, lots of work with my kids in the garden, and plenty more crazy weather ahead!
